Milan Photo Series — Matthew McCormick Studio

Light placed in forgotten spaces, revealing nuance through contrast.

Overview

Following Milan Design Week, we brought OVA Amber into the city’s periphery. We worked in abandoned structures, quiet thresholds, and textured surfaces. The intention was to discover how the pendant responded to timeworn space.

What We Made

+ Photo series across urban and rural Milan
+ Behind-the-scenes documentation

Approach

Using ambient dusk and handheld cameras, we worked with what the setting offered. Each location was chosen for its character. Cracked concrete, rusted edges, and layered tone served as active collaborators.

Outcomes

+ Reframed the object through material contrast

+ Provided adaptable editorial assets

+ Extended the brand’s context beyond gallery
