Who We Work With
Studio Philosophy
Our Practice
Amitié works across film, narrative development, and visual strategy for design-forward and community-centered brands. The practice spans brand stories, project documentaries, lifestyle films, and editorial-style pieces that explore the relationship between people, place, and material. Each project is shaped with intention, guided by research, and grounded in cultural and spatial context.
Who We Work With
We collaborate with studios, architects, developers, and cultural organizations who value clarity, depth, and thoughtful expression. Partnerships are long-term and rooted in shared curiosity. We work closely with teams who care about craft and view film as an extension of their commitment to people and place.
Studio Philosophy
Every project begins with understanding its context: the people involved, the community it touches, and the environments where the story unfolds. Observation and research form the foundation for filmwork that feels considered and true, shaping both narrative and visual direction so the work reflect the nuances of its setting.
From there, the process becomes a study of how material, light, and human experience influence one another. The way light moves through a space, the pace of a neighbourhood, or the subtleties of a gesture reveal the emotional tone a story needs and guide how each film is framed and shaped. We favour clarity over spectacle and subtlety over excess to reveal the quiet details that help a story feel true.
The aim is to create work that feels lived-in and honest. Each project is approached with attention to tone, movement, and rhythm so the final piece reflects the character of its setting. The intention is not to impose an aesthetic, but to reveal what is already meaningful.
Why Film?
Film captures the interplay of light, gesture, and environment that defines how a place is experienced.
It holds emotion and context at the same time, creating space for audiences to feel connected to the story. We use film to honour the humanity and materiality at the heart of every project.

How We Work
Discovery and Insight
Context is gathered through research, conversation, and time spent in the environments connected to the story.
Narrative Direction
A clear story approach is developed, rooted in place, emotion, and purpose. This becomes the framework for creative and editorial decisions.
Production
Filming is done with intentional crews so moments unfold naturally and the work reflects real experience.
Editing and Refinement
The story is shaped through pacing, tone, colour, sound, and rhythm. The goal is clarity, balance, and emotional resonance.
Delivery and Support
Final films and supporting assets are provided in formats suitable for varied platforms along with guidance to ensure they are used effectively.
Values
Attentiveness
Good storytelling begins with close observation. Time is taken to understand the people, places, and histories that shape each project.
Honesty
The work aims to feel sincere and grounded, reflecting lived experience rather than manufactured sentiment.
Craft
Filmmaking is approached as a discipline. Composition, rhythm, colour, and sound are used with intention to shape meaning.
Collaboration
Shared understanding strengthens the work. Projects are built through open dialogue and a respect for the expertise each partner brings.
Cultural Insight
Research, history, and environment inform creative decisions. Context matters, and the work reflects it.
Humanity
At the center of every project are people or communities. Each story is handled with care and a sense of responsibility.
